Craving Lobster or Dungeness Crab? Head over to the New England Lobster Market & Eatery located in Burlingame, California, near San Francisco International airport – they fly fresh Maine Lobsters in daily. Dining al fresco at this casual-style New England eatery is reminiscent of a wonderful lunch we enjoyed at Freeport on the South Shore of Long Island – the only thing missing is a water view, but the food more than makes up for it.
People are always asking us for ideas on one-or-two day getaways that are relatively local, not too expensive… and FUN! We recently went on a one-day/overnight trip and had a blast.
So we thought we’d share our getaway experiences with you. Feel free to use any of these ideas as a guide to plan a day-or-two away from home or share any of your favorite getaways. It feels wonderful to take a short break and come back feeling energized. Surprise your honey and make it even more fun!
It’s that great time of year when Dungeness Crab Season is in full swing in San Francisco! If you like fresh Dungeness Crab (we love it!) and you don’t mind the crowds, head on over to Pier 39’s popular Crab House – it’s home to the world-famous Dungeness Killer Crab
Roasted in a Secret Garlic Sauce… and it’s to-die-for!
Thursday, November 15th is the official opening of Dungeness Crab Season in the San Francisco Bay Area. Make Reservations for a weekend Crab Dinner or plan a Crab Sunday Brunch on the 18th.
If you are in the SF Bay Area, this is a good reason to stop by Fisherman’s Wharf, Half Moon Bay (Princeton by the Sea) or Jack London Square (Oakland) and dine on some fresh crab. If you live outside the SF Bay Area, visit your local seafood market or favorite seafood restaurant. The crab is now shipped fresh all over the country.
