The famous Music Hall features the talented Radio City Rockettes, the quintessential American chorus line and the world’s most celebrated precision dance team. The Rockettes are best known for their performances during the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the NBC Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting Ceremony and the “Radio City Christmas Spectacular Show.”

Experience over 75 years of entertainment magic with a behind-the-scenes Stage Door Tour of New York City’s spectacular Radio City Music Hall. Find out fun facts you never knew about Radio City Music Hall from entertaining and knowledgeable tour guides. Get a birds-eye view of the Great Stage. We took this tour several years ago with my family visiting from London and we all loved it. Our highlight was meeting one of the Rockettes. The tour requires a lot of walking and stair-climbing, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes.

Radio City Christmas Spectacular Show

Millions of people from around the world come to New York City every year to see the iconic holiday “Radio City Christmas Spectacular” show starring the talented Radio City Rockettes. If you want to pick one NYC show NOT-to-miss, this is the one! Be sure to book well in advance; it’s very popular with locals and visitors alike. It’s well worth a trip to New York City just to see this fabulous show. The fun holiday musical includes our all-time favorite Rockettes’ performance, the “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers.” The Rockettes’ costumes are amazing. There are over 1,100 of them in the show. Each Rockette changes costumes eight times, usually within a minute or two between routines. During the Holiday Season (October-December), the live animals that appear in the Christmas Spectacular’s Nativity scene (including camels and donkeys), are taken outside and walked around the block (Rockefeller Center) daily at 7am. Even if you’re not an early riser, you may want to check this out. It’s not something you see every day in New York City. 🙂
