Piccadilly Circus - London

Piccadilly Circus, London
Piccadilly Circus at night, London

Piccadilly Circus is one of London’s most popular tourist attractions. Conveniently located in the heart of London’s West End, it’s close to many of London’s theaters, shops and restaurants. The famous London landmark is a fun place to visit, especially at night. It draws huge crowds and is surrounded by large colorful, flashing neon advertisements. It’s somewhat like a miniature version of Times Square in New York City.

The center of the roundabout features the famous Statue of Eros (the Greek God of Love), which rises high above a fountain. The popular London hangout draws a cosmopolitan crowd from around the world. The monument’s steps are a great place to sit, hang out and people-watch.

Piccadilly Circus is also one of the world’s busiest roundabouts (traffic circle). Five major roads – and double-decker buses en masse – converge here.

Nearby attractions include: Leicester Square, Soho, Chinatown, Carnaby Street, Shaftesbury Avenue (West End theaters), Oxford Street and Regent Street (shopping), Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, and Trafalgar Square.
