Las Vegas — or as we like to call it “Disneyland for Adults” — is one of our favorite U.S. cities… and one of the world’s most popular destinations. There are more fun things to do and see in Vegas than you can possibly imagine. Enjoy award-winning gourmet restaurants, top name entertainment, world-class gaming, luxurious resorts and spas, championship golf, museums and art galleries, wonderful shopping and almost 300 days of sunshine per year — what better place to escape for a long Getaway Weekend or Family Vacation.
Fun Las Vegas Attractions, City Sightseeing Tours & Fun Day Trips
Explore Vegas on a fun city sightseeing tour. Take a helicopter flight over the Las Vegas Strip at night – it’s breathtaking! Here are a few of our favorite Las Vegas attractions:
- Fountains of Bellagio
Day or night, it’s one of the best shows in Vegas – and it’s free! The dazzling “musical water ballet” features over a thousand soaring fountains, filling Bellagio’s beautiful lake. Illuminated at night by about 5,000 lights, it’s a sight to behold. The Fountains of Bellagio display spans more than 1,000 feet, with water soaring as high as 245 feet in the air. Over the years, the fountains have “danced” to music, ranging from Opera, Country and Classical to Pop and Broadway Show Tunes – Andrea Bocelli never sounded so good!
- Forum Shops at Caesars Palace
Discover the treasures of the Roman empire at the world-famous Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. This unique shopping complex is not like your average indoor mall – its interior is a re-creation of ancient Rome. Forum Shops’ Roman streets feature classic columns and arches, “Talking” Statues, Dancing Fountains and a faux sky (ceiling) that slowly changes from day to night…and back again. Plan on spending at least several hours here – there’s a lot to see.
- White Sand Beach and Wave Pool
The beautiful Mandalay Bay Resort and its 11-acre tropical sand-and-surf beach and three exotic pools will have you believing that you’re in the Caribbean. Body surf at Mandalay Bay’s Wave Pool – the waves can go up to 12-feet high, although they’re usually only two-three feet.
- High Roller Observation Wheel
Ride the world’s tallest observation wheel – the 550-ft-tall, 51-story high observation-style wheel rises up between the Flamingo and Harrah’s resorts, across from Caesars Palace. Taking up to 1,120 passengers at one time, the 28 spherical air-conditioned glass-enclosed cabins holds up to 40 people each and takes 30 minutes to make one revolution.
- Gondola Rides at Venetian Resort
OK…so it’s not exactly Venice, but it’s pretty close – and lot less expensive! Enjoy being serenaded on a romantic Gondola ride as you glide through the Venetian Resort’s Grand Canals and St. Mark’s Square. Not only are these Gondoliers from Venice, they are also talented Opera singers. Gondola seats 4 passengers; private 2-passenger gondola rides available for an additional fee. Note to guys: Your honey will love it!
- Fremont Street Experience
This “must-see” high-tech light-and-sound extravaganza is the worlds’ largest laser computer-driven light show. Shows are free and can be viewed along the five-block Fremont Street Experience pedestrian promenade in downtown “Old Las Vegas.”
- Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden, Dolphin Habitat and Erupting Volcano at The Mirage
Admire exotic White Tigers, White Lions and Leopards in the resort’s Secret Garden.
Enjoy up-close underwater and above water views of Atlantic bottlenose Dolphins as they swim and play together at The Mirage’s 2.5-million-gallon Dolphin Habitat. Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins are best known for their jumping abilities (up to 20 feet high) and playful interaction. These dolphins live up to 35 years and can reach sizes of 12 feet and weigh more than 500 pounds.
Mirage’s Erupting Volcano – a 4 1/2 minute spectacle of water and fire – is one of the best shows on the Strip – and it’s free. Amazing sound and spectacular effects is fun for kids and adults alike.
- Eiffel Tower Experience & Light Show at Paris Las Vegas
Take the glass elevator up the Eiffel Tower – an authentic half-scale replica of the original in Paris – to the Observation Deck. The panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip (at 50 stories above the ground) are absolutely stunning, especially at night! It’s a fun thing to do when you’re celebrating a special occasion – we celebrated a special anniversary atop the tower on a moon-filled night and it was very romantic. Get a fantastic birds eye view of the Fountains of Bellagio Water Show (directly across from Paris Las Vegas) – it’s worth the price of the ticket just to see this, especially after dark. And be sure to catch the free Eiffel Tower Light Show – it runs every 30 minutes from sunset to midnight.
- The Big Apple Coaster at New York-New York Hotel & Casino
This roller-coaster is one “long scary ride” – with speeds reaching up to 67mph. It has steep climbs – up to 203 feet, thrilling drops – to 144 feet, upside-down loops and sideway curves that will keep you screaming ’til the ride is over. If you like roller-coasters, you’ll love this one! Don’t wear sunglasses or anything else that may fall off during the ride. Hold on tight to everything and expect the ride of your life!
- Lake of Dreams at Wynn Las Vegas
Wynn’s spectacular multi-media “light & laser” show features a “projection of music and dream sequences” over the lake. Surreal doesn’t even begin to describe this fun night-time show that shimmers over the lake with 4,000 color-changing lights and magnificent special effects.
A Top Dining & Wedding Destination
Las Vegas is one of the nation’s top dining destinations — numerous celebrity and award-winning chefs have fabulous restaurants here. It’s also the world’s most popular destination for getting married. It’s a FUN place for Bachelor and Bachelorette Parties too. Where else but Vegas can you “honeymoon around the world” (Paris, Venice, Bellagio, New York).
