Ghirardelli Square - San Francisco
Ghirardelli Square is famous for its world-renowned Ghirardelli Chocolate and popular Ice-Cream Parlor. It’s a fun place to go for entertaining out-of-town guests and treating yourself to a sweet treat. Tourists and locals alike flock to Ghirardelli Square to indulge in their incredible ice-cream sundaes, shakes and chocolate delicacies. Get a free Ghirardelli chocolate tasting sample as you enter the store. Enjoy fabulous waterfront dining and fun restaurants, upscale art galleries, fine shops, live entertainment and fun people-watching. You can also catch a Cable Car from the turnaround, located at Aquatic Park, opposite Ghirardelli Square on Beach Street.
Ghirardelli Marketplace – Chocolatier Demos and Ice-Cream Bar
Watch as Chocolatiers create fresh, hand-crafted milk, dark and white chocolate from bean to bar. These exclusive Chocolate Demos are available to the public daily. Ghirardelli Marketplace houses a wonderful selection of Ghirardelli Chocolates and gifts. There’s also an Ice Cream Sundae Bar (similar to the original Ice Cream Parlor, located at the opposite end of Ghirardelli Square). A smaller room off the main seating area offers spectacular views of Alcatraz and San Francisco Bay. Yet another fun place to indulge in an ice-cream treat!
Across from Ghirardelli’s main square (overlooking the park, beach, bay and Cable Car turnaround), street vendors hawk their products. Have fun browsing the stalls and shopping for arts and crafts, souvenirs, T-shirts and jewelry.
