Things To Do at Golden Gate Park

Golden Gate Park is the largest man-made park in the world. At about three miles long and a half a mile wide, it’s even larger than New York City’s Central Park. Golden Gate Park is home to beautiful gardens, meadows, lakes, and biking and running trails. The park also has a world-class art museum and a spectacular science museum. There’s even a small herd of buffalo! Once on the verge of extinction, today the American Bison (more commonly known as Buffalo) roam their paddock. They are located just west of Spreckles Lake on John F. Kennedy Drive, near Ocean Beach. Rent bikes and ride through Golden Gate Park. Bike booths are open daily. The booths are located behind the Bandshell and in Golden Gate Park (at Kennedy Drive and Hagiware Tea Garden Drive). Or pack a picnic lunch and enjoy a day at the park with your family and friends. Ride the 150-ft tall SkyStar Observation Wheel and see panoramic views, from downtown San Francisco and Golden Gate Park, to the Pacific Ocean.
